Supercharge 2013: energising local businesses

HPC Wales held an event at Ty Menai, Bangor on Tuesday 25th June, aimed at helping businesses to discover how supercomputing could improve their competitiveness, providing them with an opportunity to explore potential project opportunities, and giving them a first look at some exciting new funding opportunities.

Supercharge 2013 included interactive workshops, presentations from Welsh businesses on the big challenges facing business in Wales, a showcase from HPC Wales’ customers and partners, and an opportunity for businesses to network.

Firms were also offered the chance to preview the next round of funding opportunities – such as those available from the Technology Strategy Board - for supercomputing projects, as well as help with developing ideas to access these funds.

As a result of the Supercharge Event, a number of businesses have sought to utilise HPC Wales’ services to improve their business efficiency.
